Thank you for supporting this little project of mine. I first established Awaken Studios with a desire to spread some joy and hope after I realized the potential that my paintings had to encourage others.
Since then, I've grown to see this as a platform which I can use to support others tangibly. As a Christian, I believe it is important to steward the resources I have responsibly.
To this end, earnings from some artworks are dedicated to supporting social causes in Singapore and beyond.
Funds from Awaken Studios have been used to support homeless persons in Singapore, migrant workers, families affected by the sex trade, a environmental leadership programme, addiction recovery programmes, disability inclusion efforts and more.
Auction of three paintings (‘Joy’, ‘Even Within’, ‘Looking Ahead’) for One Hope Center, which provides counselling and support to individuals and families whose lives have been disrupted by gambling.
Contribution of ‘Everlasting’ to Dover Park Hospice’s fundraiser. Dover Park Hospice employs a holistic approach to supporting the terminally ill and their loved ones.
COVID-19 Fundraiser for Covid-19 Migrant Support Coalition, a taskforce dedicated to supporting the needs of migrant workers in Singapore, following an outbreak of the virus in the dormitories. 50% of proceeds ($557.15) was donated.
Christmas Sale Fundraiser for Tamar Village. 8 paintings sold (‘Symphony’, ‘Seamist’, ‘Village’, ‘Mystery’, ‘Waves’, ‘Experiment’, ‘Castle’, Currents’). 100% of proceeds ($800) was donated directly to the restoration of those affected by the red-light district.
$1,000 donated from sale of 'Moving Forward' to Homeless Hearts of Singapore to support homeless persons in Singapore.
$500 donated from sale of 'Anticipation' to Chili Padi Academy, an environmental leadership programme for aspiring changemakers across Southeast Asia.
Raised $3,300 from sale of 'Making All Things New', 'A Childlike Curiosity', and 'Burst' for The President’s Challenge, a national movement led by the president to rally Singaporeans to build a caring and cohesive society by raising funds and galvanising support for disadvantaged communities through volunteering and inclusive employment.
